IPL Hair Removal

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is a safe and effective treament for removal of unwanted hair.  It can be used in any area, except around the eyes.  The upper lip, face, neck, underarms, bikini line, legs, chest, and back can all be treated.  It is most effective on patients with lightly pigmented skin and darkly pigmented hair. Depending on the area to be treated and amount of hair, treatment times can vary, but usually are 30 minutes or less.

IPL treats actively growing hair, but at any one time only a certain percentage of hair is actively growing, so it requires multiple treatments to achieve significant hair reduction.  The treated hair will continue to appear for 1-4 weeks after treatment.  This is not additional hair growth, but the treated hairs being expelled from the skin.  Once a hair is treated, it should not grow back.  However, your body continues to produce hair, so that you should expect significant reduction in hair, but not 100% removal, as is shown above.
